Hi. I’m Mike, a freelance illustrator based in Devon, UK. I have a real love for creating illustrations for Young Fiction, Middle Grade, and Children’s Picture Books. My characters and scenes are exciting, humorous, and energetic.

I am an illustrator who channels a lifelong love for drawing into colourful and energetic images that can tell a story.

I have 14 years experience in commercial illustration and graphic design (so i’m no stranger to deadlines), and have a real strength for observation, characterisation and a strong use of line art. I like to paint with digital media, sometimes combined with watercolours to create more natural textures.

My work is inspired by folklore, fairy tales, my love for traditional children’s books, and general life in Devon where I live today with my family.
